I feel bad for non-Texans sometimes. They prolly don’t know what these ingredients will become in 4 hours.
Also, there is no such thing as vegetarian chili. My sister posted about this the other day and I am equally irked by this constantly, from the plethora of vegetarian friends that I have who don’t know what they are saying out loud. What you are actually making is “spicy soup with beans in it”. Look it up. Chili comes from chili con carne, which means peppers (chili) with MEAT. And mine doesn’t have friggin’ beans in it, because I’m Texan and we don’t abide that shit. Unless your parents were weird and didn’t know the rules. Texans get needlessly angry about a lot of things, especially food. I am aware of this. I am guilty of this. I need to calm down and make my chili now.
Love always, Texas.
P.S.
Why the eff didn’t you have ancho chilis, Kroger? Are you trying to kill me?
